We had a great day out to Ayr's Guinea pig rescue, Roz was fine for the journey by bus and train, and had a good bonding session, found out she is Boss Baby maybe! Lovely to meet the other pigs too and the wonderful ladies who gave excellent advice. The journey back with the three went smoothly too. We will be taking down the loft and making the cage a 2x5 (glad we got the c&c) We will let the ladies have a good rest to settle in for now, very calm at the moment..The lovely ladies we adopted are Called Freya and Twitch❤

It's been quite successful so far..minimum rumbling from Roz, a lot of wheeking, a bit of exaggerated yawning, and we have had popcorning from Freya, who is around 3 years..Roz popcorning like mad but she's only 5-6 months old..she is copying the adults..sitting down to eat the hay now..lol!

Will need to pick up as many bags of B&M Timothy hay as I can carry tomorrow..the marigold and cornflowers one is a hit! The heat seems to have killed the dandelions out in the back garden..meh! 😂

This is fantastic news! They look so beautiful together hope
To see lots more of this new friendship on the forum!

It has been an exciting day, my youngest is usually quite shy, with new people, 10 and taller than me (other reasons, but won't go into that) My 17 year old Ros..art student, so Roz is named after her 'OC' was really excited..and I get excited with their enthusiasm! Think the ladies at the rescue had their heads talked off! We got there about 12.30pm left about 2.30pm! It's a great environment, and it's smashing the hard word they are doing, we even picked up a decent sized bag of budgie seed, and handmade tie clippy things for the large water bottles..they offered us a loan of a large pet carrier..but lucky we brought one just in case..the ferplast large rabbit one we had for Roz no chance..!

It is astonishing to see Roz come out in all her piggy talking glory, and not hiding now..she is full on sploot next to the cool bottle we put in, possibly watched the older piggies earlier enjoying a cool down?

I haven't watched Stranger Things tonight..this is way better! Think I am becoming a proper piggy enthusiast 😂

Great to see them all settling in. ❤
Thanks Julie, yes everything is going well touch wood..can't wait to let them have out of cage time..I think mummy Freya might be gently trying to put Roz in her place by nuzzling her nose and lifting her chin 😂! The other two are having a wheeky popcorn session..I have never seen hay dissapear so fast tbh either..! Constant nomming noise.its very relaxing 😊

Aww glad they're settling in. They're all such lovely girls. It was funny to think we were all worried about wee Roz being overwhelmed as she was the smallest. 😂 Ha ha.

I know I felt sorry for the other ladies..pure ned piggy..think she might end up middle piggy..Twitch has just tried to mount Roz..it's fine a quick rumble from Roz and mum is just watching while trying to nap..saying gies peace..now they're both lying down together gossiping..think I will start a blog..😁

Oof time for my own bed!

Thanks so much Julie its been a difficult couple of weeks..Glad you allowed us to adopt these lovely piggies xx

Extra trainer box wee house just for the day..the three of them were sleeping today with eyes fully shut..that was a lovely sight, really wierd though! We did remove a panel for a few hours and put a cushion step out..but no interest in coming out to explore yet..Roz was considering it, but no quite a relaxed day..we are keen to dismantle the loft and extend tomorrow..going to try a 2x5..with an L shaped extra square :) Then cut the ramp for a easy access exit for them to come and go at out times.

All piggies love cardboard boxes.
Yes just using stuff that's about..I was just a bit worried about the coloured stuff, but to be fair they are just mainly taking turns on the hay roller and the log bridge thing..furious hay eating going on..they have managed to all eat over half a bag of the b&m timothy hay..will need to get up there early doors on monday and get the huge bales!..we are not using the bowls..so just scattering pellets and veg about the place..and poo picking 3x a day at the moment..och it's such a joy watching the antics..mum pig has been gently pushing up Roz's chin and nuzzling her so a gentle takeover maybe! No rumbles today 😊Still early days, but all good!

They’re beautiful! I’m glad you found the perfect fit for your piggy :) where did you purchase your piggy house? Looks really nice

The big box? That's just an old present box from the card factory, red one is a shoe box, the furry bed is from Amazon 😊

Hmm...finished, the loft correx was slightly too wide and my daughter didn't want to cut it at the moment, so we have some cardboard bits that fit into the circle things (brain is fried..atm!) and taped..we will see how it goes..so 2x5 and a bit..lol..a few left over grids so if we get a smaller dining table in the future we can make it bigger..20190729_190424.webp

Free floor time went well. And everyone got a cuddle..Roz a squirmy one! The older ones aren't keen to get themselves over the correx, even with a slight ramp.. Roz still coming in and out herself..20190729_220502.jpg

More out cage time..sorry for too many pics..I can't resist..we fed them a proper meal outside, as I wasn't sure they were getting enough hard to portion it out by a mix of hand feeding and putting bits scattered..so I think everyone got a fair go..it's a nice big bowl, some pepper, cucumber, spring greens, mix lettuce, chopped celery with leaves, coriander fine sweetheart cabbage (being sparse, in case of bloaty tums) They each shared a chopped strawberry earlier..I am just concerned that they are really not interested in the burgess or harringtons pellets mix at the moment..a great wad of timothy hay is constantly being consumed..and they munch on the meadow hay we put down also..I really don't think they are eating too much veggies, we are cautious about that..Anyone have any thoughts? This pic is from poo picking time..My daughter usually does this, but I had the pleasure three times today, while she is at her summer pre college art course..I don't mind.I am not that agile to reach and I am 5ft..i end up sitting in the cage! They all got cuddles from both of us..Roz actually let my daughter pick her up after a pet..so Freya who we think is the ultimate queen now, has taught Roz that being petted by slaves is fine..Twitch has become vocal but shyer but had a nice calm petting sesh before she wanted to join the others..I think the group are going to be successful..occasional rumblings, Roz actually popcorns with excitement when lady Freya rumblestruts..it is not escalating..no bum biting and no violent posturing, I was a bit worried for Twitch as she occasionally gets double rumbles going past her, as Roz and Freya sort it out..very mild.. surely this might stress her out?20190730_203923.webp

Aww they're doing fantastic. 😍. The rumbling probably won't bother twitch as she's probably used to being an under piggie and low in the hierarchy. She was always at the bottom of the pecking order on the girl Herd. (wee soul)
