We are seeing our vet later tonight, I just really want to vent because ugh I'm feeling grumpy.

I am fairly confident it's thanks to a batch of hay I received a little while ago that was dustier than normal. They only received a couple handfuls of it because it made me wheeze so much I sounded like Darth Vader.

The whistling is rather faint, but I know it must still be uncomfortable for her and maybe it's worse than it sounds. I figured something was wrong when I noticed Lily constantly staying by her side and sleeping close to her. They're great friends but get extra cuddly and sweet when the other is poorly.

I will update after the vet trip, hopefully it's nothing too-too bad and a course of yucky antibiotics will take care of it :(

If hay dust is the cause, then you are dealing with a sensitivity and not a bacterial infection.

Please keep in mind that guinea pig airways are very small and narrow in addition to them not being good mouth breathers, so you will hear every little obstruction in there very audibly and often quite dramatically. it is highly likely that your girl has just the equivalent of a partially blocked nose. ;)
