Nearly completed the new piggie palace in the shed. It is 1.2x0.9m with 1.2x0.9m loft the main area will have 0.9x0.3m leg with a ramp to a door to access the raised lawn. The floor will be covered in lino. They currently live in a hutch outside with newspaper and wood shavings and tonnes of hay. I am considering fleece and puppy pads in the new palace. Suggestions welcome. Picture of the girls in their current abode and the new palace(excuse the mess).32AFC0FF-788D-4B86-AF3F-02853D87C28F.webp68F4BA79-CB22-4259-B844-308015A0C591.webp

Would love a space like this for a herd, but this won't happen all the time I'm living at home 😅 Beautiful space for them! In terms of fleece, I would suggest to just try it out, and see what you think, or maybe you could to the top level fleece and like a "snuggle" section and the lower level your other substrate with food.. hay.. etc, as hay can be difficult to remove from fleeces

My piggies live in my shed. They have a 5ft, two storey hutch which is surrounded by a c&c grid playpen so I can open the hutch door and they have access out into the playpen whenever it is warm enough. Their playpen is fleece lined. Their hutch is a mixture of everything! They have vetbed or fleece (just depends where I am in the washing cycle!) with a thick layer of hay on top in two areas and the rest is newspaper, finacard with hay. I love that they have some softness with the fleecey areas but given they are out in the shed, they need a lot of hay to keep warm. I will vouch for the fact that hay and fleece is a bit of a nightmare together! I wouldn’t stop using it and It’s not impossible but it needs a really good brush down with a stiff brush and shake before putting in the washing machine.

Looking amazing!
