I received an email from the rescue yesterday to say that the boys are bonding well. Hopefully they can come home tomorrow. I’m so happy for Ronnie. He and Scottie had such a close bond and I was really worried about him when Scottie passed. I’ve given the cage a deep clean and washed all the fleeces so they will be homed In neutral smelling territory. I’ll put the fleece they come home in as it will have both their smells on it. I’ll be off to the grocers tomorrow to stock up on fresh veg. I’ve no idea what breed/colour Stan is but that’s not important as all piggies are gorgeous ❤️. I can’t wait to meet Stan who will be called Stanley from now on. I’ve so missed Ronnie and I’m hoping this will be his last adventure so he can have the peace and happiness he deserves. Will post some pics when Stanley has settled . Thanks to you all who gave support after Scottie’s passing. Stanley will not replace him but will bring a new character into my piggie family. I love him already 🤗

Yay, I’m sooo happy for you both. I’m sure Ronnie will be happy to see you too. And I’m sure Stanley is a gorgeous hunk of a boar. Congratulations 🤗

So pleased that Ronnie has found a new friend in Stanley. Looking forward to pictures of both of them when you bring them home. Remember Stanley will be very scared first of all so let him settle for a few days and take his cues from Ronnie.

I will thanks @Betsy. I’ll leave them for a few days before introducing Stanley to floor time.

Very happy for you and Ronnie! It is worth taking it slowly and allowing the bond to settle stably at the rescue even if it is means that you had to leave Ronnie at the rescue. But it also means that you have none of the sleepless nights over bonding headaches and fears!

Thank you for your sound advice @Wiebke . I am totally confident that if the rescue say it’s ok for them to come home they can. I trust their judgement 100%. I know they would not be allowed home if there was any doubt. I’m an experienced piggie mum so will be checking on them day and night . If the worse comes to the worse I have a spare cage to separate them if need be. Fingers crossed it will work out. Happy to say I’m confident at this stage. 😁🤞

This is excellent news. Looking forward to seeing photos of them once they are safely settled in back at home.
