One of my boys, Rocket, likes to lick Tobii's ears. It seems Tobii likes it though, as he lies down and stretches out. Is this normal? They are about 10 and a half months old and are quite hormonal. Rocket tends to do this just after they have sized each other up, like he's repairing a bond. Should I stop him? On first inspection it looked like he was nibbling them, but when I touched the ears, they were wet and there were no bite marks... Help please!

I think they like to nibble a little to be affectionate so nothing to worry about unless they start losing big chunks!

Tobii's ears have always been frayed, ever since I got him. I spotted one bite mark on his ear the other day, but there have been no other signs or bites/wounds. Tobii seems perfectly fine with Rocket licking his ears, and enjoys it..

Licking or tugging on ears is quite normal bonding behaviur as far as I know, for sows anyhow. No reason why boars shouldn't indulge, reaffirming that they care for each other kind of thing. Think of it as mutual grooming!

I love them so much I want more :D But I'm happy with the boys fpr now ;) I love watching them in the morning. I watch them through the window, and see them impatiently running around the hutch, waiting for food and cuddles :P
