Hi I am in the U.S. and was wondering if anyone knew of any roach sprays that would not be harmful to my boys.

F10 do an insecticide version of their spray for killing fleas and lice and mites in animal cages, might that be ok? I've never used it directly in a pet cage but we did spray the windows and windowsills in the piggy room with it in summer (while the piggies were in a different room, then we had the windows open for an hour while it dried and the smell went) after I saw a big fly come in and land on Piggle's dirty grease gland bum! It definitely killed flies on contact in the piggy room, but I never let the piggies get close to where I sprayed...

:yikes: :yikes:

I usually hate killing and insecticides but seeing a big blowfly land on my precious grubby piggy bum in the heatwave sent me into a bit of a paranoid fly killing rage in case she got flystrike! Poor Piggle got so many bum baths and bum inspections that month and all the blowflies in the neighbourhood were slaughtered with F10 insecticide spray...

I would have been exactly the same! I hate flies! I have bought some velcro for the summer so that I can stick it to the window in the garage and put the flyscreen from the hutch on it so that I can open the window to keep the flies out.

We have grand plans for the garage, the kitchen/diner and sun room which include putting in lantern windows when we redo the flat roofs. That way the piggies can have natural light. :)

I imagine any spray would be harmful. Have you tried using Muslim cloth over your cage?
No I have not. what woud be the best way to get rid of the roaches if not using spray because my apartment manager wants to have the pest controll come in and spray and I told her its harmful to the guinea pigs. she said they can use a "pet friendly" spray but idk how pet friendly those sprays are.

Unfouratnaly F10 is only avliable in the UK and can not be shipped to the us.... so that would not be an option for me

I would have serious doubts that anything used to kill roaches would be ok for guinea pigs to be around.
I think the best option might be to look into arranging for your guinea pigs to go off and have a mini holiday with friends or family for a few days while the apartment is sprayed, and then bring them back once everything is fully aired.
Would that be a possibility?

Living down South we usually get plenty of spiders, roaches, and gnats. My piggies both have cages near windows so it's easy for bugs to come in a possibly get into the piggies cage. If you can remove the piggies from the room. I usually mix water, fabric softener, fresh coffee grounds and bayleaves in a spray bottle and spray it around the windows and corners of my room. Due to the water diluting the scent it'll start to fade quickly making it scent free by the next day.
