Please have your thoughts with Pepper and Saltine. Both are currently being treated for ringworm. I’d just really appreciate some support. 🥺 It’s hard seeing them so uncomfortable and having to be separated from me and each other even temporarily.

Hi

I am very sorry. Please take a deep breath!

Please do not separate the boys because it will only increase their immune lowering stress; that is not necessary unless the treatment is sub-standard. Where are they looked after and cared for and what treatment are they getting? Is it just creaming?

Here is our very detailed and practical Ringworm Care and Hygiene guide, which addresses all aspects for getting on top of ringworm once and for all, including what to do about all the long-lived invisibly tiny spores. We have had 15 years on this forum to trial all possible treatments as to their efficiency and work out all possible transmission angles; that is why our practical advice really works.
Please read the link as you will still have to do some serious disinfection at home to make sure that they cannot pick up any spores again: Ringworm: Hygiene, Care And Pictures

My vet told me to separate them because one was being treated before the other( long story) and he didn’t want them to give it back and forth to each other. They’re currently taking an oral medication. Thanks a bunch for the consideration.

Hiya. I hope it clears up soon. Pop them back in together. At least they will feel a little better to have each other during their treatment.

PLEASE read our ringworm care link! It will tell you everything you need to know about hygiene measures and treatment.

I've managed to keep a ringworm outbreak confined to just one piggy in a room of thirty, and he was with his companion in the same quarantine cage throughout the whole treatment - his sow-wife just had some days on the oral anti-fungal as well as well as the bath at the end and never developed it. That was four years ago and I haven't had any new ringworm since. It wasn't fun deep cleaning the whole room and all piggy pens but it did the trick and everything was sorted within a week and two weeks extra for abservation afterwards before my pair was allowed to return into the piggy room. Our advice really works!

I promise I’ll give it a read.

All six of my girls had ringworm. It cleared up nicely and all fur grew back in a couple of months. Whatever you do, do NOT let yourself catch it. I still have a scar from scratching in my sleep, a year post-ringworm apocalypse.

I’ve had it myself years ago. Wasn’t worse than my psoriasis. The fur is already almost all the way back. I can’t wait for the whole ordeal to be done. 😭

Update.
Both Saltine and Pepper are well again. They were cleaned by the vet and all the hair they lost is regrown.
I’ve got them back together and upgraded their living space.
I’m so glad all that’s finally done. 😁
