Minnie is getting treated for some gas in her tummy. She is on metoclopramide 3 times a day + gripe water.

however today I noticed that her right ear flaps whenever she eats/drinks. I don’t notice it when she first wakes up but I see it whenever she starts eating.

I am so stressed. I have never had this much of an issue with them. All three of my girls have been sick. Penelope has/had molar problems + uti. Mocha has a uri. Minnie has gas and now this ear problem. I have spent close to 1000 dollars on them in the past month and live two and a half hours away from a vet. I am in between jobs right now as I have just moved. I can’t keep going to the vet.

I thought of just getting some antibiotics from the vet to fix up any possible ear infection. She does not have a head tilt. She lets me touch her ear and I did have a look and nothing looked unusual. Any advice/suggestions are very much so appreciated. I am very much pushed past my limit on top of other life problems right now.

i am trying to attach a video and it will not let me.

Hi!

Please take a deep breath. You are currently very much hovering over your piggies so you will notice little quirks that you would not normally give a lot of attention. I am very sorry that you are having such a bad run.

Flappy ears depend on the smaller size and weight; they can still move more when a piggy chews and the jaw muscles transfer the movement to the ears. Personally, I find it very cute to watch.

You need to worry about ears and see a vet promptly if your piggy has a sudden head tilt (ear infection can be one of the potential causes), if you notice a large build-up of wax (which is always the same colour as the skin, by the way) or notice signs of fungal on the ear or if they keep shaking or pawing their ears.

I hope that this helps you?
