Ricky's male anatomy

I one time mentioned this problem on a post and as advised I did have the vet look at Ricky, but boy, how do I say this....well, his testicles are huge! When I noticed them getting big, I told the vet and she said male guinea pig testicles grow very large. But now, as Ricky is getting bigger, so are they! They are so very noticeable and hang low. They are like two small marbles. I don't think this looks right, even though the vet said they grow very large. Does anyone with male guineas think their privates look very large. I don't know wether or not to take him in again. I don't want the vet to think I'm crazy, but on the other hand, I want to make sure nothing is wrong. He is as happy as a lark. No problems with anything. It just looks weird at how big they are. I know it's a weird thing to post about, but I am very concerned about Ricky. He was sick for the first 7 months of his life (with 5 abscesses in total!) and finally for the past two months, he's been great. I don't want him to get sick again! I would love if any male guinea pig owners have noticed this on their guineas! Thanks all!

someone on here might say something different, but my louis had very big balls, which would look like sometimes they were being dragging on the floor when he walked! He's now had the chop, so no longer has them - but hopefully it's nothing to worry about, but maybe someone on here will say different.

My boar does seem quite well-endowed and I think it just depends on the piggy and size varies from piggy to piggy.

I very much doubt that you have anything to be worried about and I really would not want you to waste money by taking him to the Vet again, only to be told he is OK. If I were you I'd wait until you needed the Vet for something else and then just casually throw it into the mix while there!

I don't know if you've seen the video of the three guineas squabbling over a chunk of cucumber(?) well, one of the boars is extremely well-endowed! I think it's the white one. Take a look at that and maybe it'll put your mind at rest.

A couple of mine have huge ones too,some not so huge. Nothing to worry about. When I pick mine up, I cup their "bits" and could tell if there were any changes like a hard lump etc...

I don't know if my pigs would be classed as big or not..I've never particularly thought they are though.

This might sound strange, but maybe you could get a photo?

My two entire boars are rather well endowed too! They are big rex boys with somewhat impressive boar bits! Meg my youngest daughter (11) always has me in stitches because she refers to them as "big bottomed boys" - she can't bring herself to call their "bits" anything else!:D

Thank you all for your replies! I feel better! Ricky is just getting so big and so are his "bits" which is why I worried. I'm glad to hear that a lot of you have some "well-endowed" guineas! I have seen the cucumber video BlackJack, but didn't notice it at the time. Now I'm going onto YouTube to watch it again! Also Wales, you cracked me up because I also made a comment to someone once on how Ricky's drag on the floor when he walks! So I'm not crazy! Thank you for putting my mind to rest! When he goes in for something else I'll have the vet take a look. She'll probably laugh at me again, but I'm glad to hear it's pretty normal! I guess it's just like men....some are bigger than others! LOL! Thanks all!

ricky wow a BIG boy

this has been a fun thread! like you said anne marie it is the same as men they come in different sizes. i would continue to check for lumps or redness other than that just ask the vet the next time you are there.
hugs to you and ricky:a44::a44::a44: :a29: :a29: :a29:

Thanks Mary! I've been checking and so far I feel nothing or see any redness. Jane, I will try to post a photo tomorrow. I just got a new camera so if I just need to read up on how to transfer to my computer. I'm sure it's as easy as the old camera. I haven't tried it yet. Hey, I see all these new face icons that were not on before! I haven't seen anyone use them....do they work? I'm going to try on to see if they work....malletheadmallethead Thanks again all!

Hi Annmarie i think you'll find this is totally normal........ahhhh he's just a bigger boy than some ;)
If he were a human man he'd be real proud LOL
BUT as everyone has said just keep an eye on his bits and perhaps check them regularly that nothing looks different, like they tell you to check them right over. Just go over his whole body once a week and see if everythings ok, it's just a good way to know your piggie and if anything feels or looks diff you notice quicker !
Give the boy lots of loves from me and lots of manly wheeeeeeeeeks from Duke xx>>>xx>>>xx>>>xx>>>xx>>>xx>>>
