After realising the cage they had was getting too small as they were growing, have finally , after reading about everybody's C&C cages, decided to get stuck in

Found a supplier just round the corner form me, who has lots of cardboard tubes and sells the coroplast stuff. Two large sheets for a tenner! Bargain!

Bought two , in case I messed up the first one! As it is, for a cage of 2 x 4 grids, the edges that stand upright, if you see what I mean, are a bit small, so I will cut it from the spare sheet, need them a little higher, to keep everything inside.. I am not a fleece convert, I use finacard for all my small furries (degus, chinchillas , rats and the piggies) and they love to forage in it x)

Its not in the final position as yet, need to get it on the table, so they are a bit higher, need to make sure they will not jump out!

What do you thik? Is it big enough for 2?

Anyway,. here is a small video clip

and a link to the album in case you want the see a before, during and final picture! :) http://s145.photobucket.com/albums/r210/Mesi_2007/Rex%20and%20Dex%20guinea%20piggies/

Looks great! I love the tubes stuffed with hay, I might have to try that!
If its 4 by 2 then thats fine for 2, if you can do 5 by 2 that's even better but 4 by 2 is big enough, looks like they're enjoying it anyway! :)

I think your cage looks three by two which is too small. Extend it a bit and it will be fine. :)

Looks fantastic! Love the bedding material and the hay tubes - think we're gonna copy that idea! The only thing I would say is that if that's their only source of hay then it may be too much effort to continually reach up like that. Remember that 80% of a piggy's diet should be hay so it's nice for them to have a decent amount that they can graze on easily at snout level!

Thanks :)

Its 2 grids wide and 4 grids long.

The stuffed tubes are only for variety, Difficult to see on the finacard, but at one end (the right side) are two big heaps of hay, meadow hay and oxbox :)

Every evening they get a variety of vegs and herbs, I also have scattered dried herbs and grasses , so there is plenty for them to forage. I also stuff some hay, then cubed veg, then more hay in a tube and they love trying to get to thevveg, chasing the tubes around.. That way they get extra exercise and a bit more excitement in the cage

I will put it on a table, as soon as I get a table long enough :) Dont like them on the floor, in case of draughts etc
