My beloved Guinea Theo, passed just over an hour ago. He was going to be 6 years old in 2 months. Unfortunately, he got unwell 2 weeks ago and didn’t fight it despite the meds given. Last of our guinea pigs, lived indoors with us humans in our living room. We all love you and will miss you so much. The boy knew where his treats were kept and would walk and stand close to the place and wait for a treat. Your humans will miss your beautiful long hair and your beautiful eyes. The house is going to seem so different without you and your things. Baby boy, love you forever 💙❤️💚🐾🐾🌈

What a majestic beauty he was. I'm so sorry for your loss 💜
Sweet dreams handsome boy, popcorn the rainbow bridge high 🌈
Thank you. Means a lot. I’ve had 6 guinea pigs since 2016 and doesn’t hurt any less losing the last from the others. He was a beautiful boy. Miss hearing him munching on his hay 😢

BIG HUGS

I am very sorry that gorgeous Theo has got the call to the Bridge.

You have given him a very good life and life span filled with everything a piggy could want: lots and lots of happy todays in good care and - seeing your treat dispensing slave training - with some very well trained cavy staff!

Be sad and give yourself time grieve and digest the shock, but please don't feel bad. It is always hard when their much faster metabolism turns against one of your piggies and something in their body gives way - including the immune system. There is nothing you or your vet can do. Sadly, the pain of your loss will never be any less because each bond is unique.

But Theo will always keep his very own special nest in your heart and - whenever you are ready to look - is leaving it filled with lots of precious memories to warm the cold hands of your soul on in dark times.

Than you for your kind words. 💙

I know it really hurts and breaks your heart when its their time to go. Take your time to grieve your baby. He was amazing in every way ♥️

So sorry that you lost your handsome boy.
Your love for him shines through your tribute.
Be gentle with yourself as you grieve
Thank you so much. I woke up to syringe feed him critical care at 4.40am (his previous was at 12.30am). He wasn’t really eating or drinking water and kept laying flat/turning face or dribbling his food/water out; so I put him down and went to get his meds. When I came back after a minute he had moved to go to his open c&c cage. I picked him to give his meds and then put cream on his 2 bubblefeet paws (which he developed same time as stomach and URI) and he started to kick and stretch out of being in a towel. When I put him down into his cage, I noticed he lost movement in his hind legs and couldn’t move. Held him and he died within 10 minutes 🥹🥲

He sat with us, ate with us, greeted us when we walked in. Just feeling his loss a lot 💔
