Hi,

New to the forum and wondering if anyone could give a bit of advice.

We got ours two boys from a rescue place on Sunday. Both are around 2 years old and have been together a long time.

Everything's been fine for the most part, they're really happy to be handled, etc. However, we noticed an increase in dominance behaviour on Friday from Merlin, who we thought was the more dominant of the two. Magic has been a bit more skittish since coming home with us, but is getting increasingly confident. We think actually it might be Magic that's the more dominant, as he's showing a lot of dominance behaviour now, which Merlin is backing down from mostly, but not always. teeth chattering, humping, nosing off and rumble strutting increased a lot yesterday so we're a bit concerned they might have a falling out. No ones been bitten at all yet and no blood drawn. Just wondering what we can do (if anything) to help them sort it out? We're fairly confident (as much as as new piggie owners can be!) that Magic is more dominant- should we treat them as though he is by getting him out first, food first etc? They're housed in a 4x2 c and cage with a 1x2 loft that they're not properly using as of yet.

Thanks for reading this super long post!

Welcome to the forum. Sounds like normal dominance behaviour to me. Do they have two of everything! Bowls, hidey's etc? Cage is a great size :) how old are they?

They're both around 2. Only one food bowl as that's not been a problem up til now, but we're stopping off at pets @ home today to get a second one today we think.they have an igloo, a tunnel and a carrot house so plenty of hiding room and they haven't fought over that yet. Thank you for the reassurance :)
