Currently, guinea pigs entering the UK face a 4-month quarantine period - longer than necessary given their low rabies risk. This hits close to home. In 2023, we lost two beloved guinea pigs during and shortly after their quarantine when moving from New York to London. The extended isolation and stress was likely a contributing factor.
