Okay this is long but I need help so please make it through!

I have two 5 month old males that are brothers and housed together.
One was growing the other was not. He is very skinny. Went to the vet for a check up did X-rays and found what “could” be stones. I got him 1 month ago from a breeder and we have not gone crazy with high calcium foods. I'm confused why stones and even the vet is saying it’s very weird this early we’re developing stones. We drove 4 hours to another vet who has now done blood work and says she’s not entirely convinced it’s stones due to the very odd location. I’m anxiously waiting for the blood work because I don’t know if this is renal failure causing the weight loss and I’m terrified.
He eats great and doesn’t soon to be going for his water more. Vet said he was well hydrated.
We’re on critical care as a supplement and the hopes are for him to gain weight and get a CT scan and possibly surgery. I have cried my eyes out cause this just isn’t fair to him. I’m terrified.
I don’t know what any right move is.. do I separate him from his brother to make sure he’s actually eating good? Brother can be a jerk at times and run him away but he comes right back and they eat peacefully but what is happening when I’m asleep? Maybe these are anxious thoughts but I need advice. I'm trying so hard to have hope but I’m terrified for the worst. I don’t want to lose my little guy.

I am so sorry you are going through this. Your post seems to have been missed on Saturday, by replying to you I am hopefully bumping you up for a health expert to reply.

I am not an expert but I suggest that you don't separate them if the bond is good. Hope he gets better soon
