Hello! We have had our female guinea pig for about 3 years. She has been to the vet multiple times in the past. Tonight while she was out of her pen we noticed a spot on her end where a tail would be if she had one. It appears to be bleeding. I have a photo but can’t seem to attach it. We intend to call the vets tomorrow once they open. In the meantime, we are wondering if anyone has had this happen to their piggie or if you have any insight. Thanks in advance for your help!

Hello and welcome
It sounds like what you are seeing is on her grease gland. The best thing is to get her to a vet if you are worried. I hope she's okay 💕

Could it be the grease gland (just guessing from your description) about a finger's width above the genitalia? It can unfortunately go wrong. Please see a vet in this case and do not home treat on spec.
Bathing (including cleaning grease glands) (contains a picture of where the grease gland is located).

Try to upload the picture by using the Attach File button on the left under your post when you write it. That works with all picture formats.
