Hey, all! I have a new baby piggie--maybe 12 weeks old or so. I love him to the moon and back so I'm fairly torn up right now over a patch on the inside of his left leg. It's hairless and looks reddish to me. He does scratch a lot and has just started biting, but that could be because I keep picking him up to examine the spot. I tried to get a good picture but he's wiggly.
I've got clotrimazole on hand in case it's a fungal infection and have sprayed him down with flea spray. My boyfriend insists it looks like fleas but I have no idea. If you all think it looks familiar, please share! I'm worried about my little one.image.webpimage.webp

Bless him that looks sore! It could be some form of parasite, especially with you saying hes itchy. But it could also be fungal or local irritation.

Please dont treat with any shop bought products as this can interfere with things, sometimes making them worse.

Please have him seen by a piggy savvy vet for a diagnosis and appropriate treatment. There is a vet locator on the forum that may help you find a suitable vet in your area if you dont have one already.

All the best x

Poor boy! Please have him seen by a vet as soon as you can during normal hours. It is most likely either mange mites or fungal, but you need a proper diagnosis and good quality products. The treatment differs for each complaint.

Could it be mites even if it's only the one spot and he hasn't got any marks by his face or eyes? First time owner here--thank you for your help. :)
