Hi I recently treated Wilbur for a hay poke/ ulceration. The medication seemed to take care of the blue cloudiness but I noticed a red circle in his in eye. Any idea of what this could be?
This is a picture of what it resembles not a actual pic of wilburs eye.

Hi, if you're unsure take him back to the vets for a check up...it could be that he just needs some extra meds to help with the injury from the hay poke...but eyes are very hard to tell as scabs after they heal sometimes look red...my piggies eye went red after healing but he was confirmed to be partially blind after a major injury...plus it is always good to get a check up after meds for them...

Hi there, the red circle could indicate that the hay poke was quite deep & has caused internal bleeding in the eyeball itself?
Probably best to see a vet to check Wilburs eyes, they're so fragile & complications can happen quickly with eyes.

My RB piggy Orca was always getting hay pokes & always had eye problems.
I used to regularly take her to the vets for eye drops, Tiacil was the most common one in later years, as it was an antibiotic eye drop, so would clear up any infection in the eye too.
Tiacil Ophthalmic Solution 5ml for Cats, Dogs and Rabbits
Its a prescription only medication, but you might be able to get it cheaper if the vet does a prescription only & you send it away for online ordering (approx £22 for 3g tube in my vets).

I used it with Remend eye gel about an hour later. Used like this it would speed up the healing process
Remend Corneal Repair Gel - 3ml

Good luck & hopefully with the correct quick treatment, Wilbur will fully recover.
... Nb Orca's eyes looked normal after treatment except little scar marks where the poke had been.
It was only after many, many pokes she had irreparable damage & she was virtually blind in the one eye.

Healing vibes Wilbur, speedy recovery xx

You are right, he did/does have a corneal ulcer. I was prescribed tobramycin eye drop and that seemed to work well with clearing up the blue cloudiness, I thought he was in the clear then I noticed the redness. He's eating, drinking and popcorning. I did notice the red circle moving. My hope that's a good sign.
As in its trying to drain.
Unfortunately I'm in the US and it seems anything that that can help a Wilbur needs a prescription. I am tempted to order what you recommend. Do you have any idea how long it would take to ship to california?
And thank you for your best wishes and advice.
Here is a pic of my little dude

It looks like the common/brand name is Remend on the data sheet on the link, so I guess it is the same as our Remend here? But maybe ask your vet if it's the correct product would be safest?

Here's an excerpt from the hyperdrug website ref Tiacil...

"Tiacil ophthalmic solution is a sterile, colourless viscous liquid. Each 1.0 ml contains gentamicin sulphate 3.0 mg, trometamol 6.0 mg, disodium edetate (EDTA) 5.0 mg.

Uses
Gentamicin sulphate is a broad spectrum antibiotic of the aminoglycoside group. Tiacil ophthalmic solution is indicated for the treatment of blepharitis, conjunctivitis, keratoconjunctivitis (including post-operative keratitis) and anterior uveitis, in dogs, cats and rabbits."

So Gentamicin sulphate is the active ingredient. It looks like it comes from the same antibacterial group - the aminoglycoside group.
But I am no expert&have no experience of the medication you're using, so again check with your vet for advice.

Ps sorry I didn't look at your location to realise you're not from the UK.
Guinea Lynx :: Eyes
Is a good US 🇺🇸 based site, although it looks like you may have found it already

I also remembered I had to give Orca the oral antibiotic Baytril (Enrofloxacin?) , to fight any infection deep inside the eye.
This also helped to clear up the eye quicker.

Unfortunately our veterinary care is quite expensive, but nothing in comparison with yours in the US!
I'm unsure if 'animed' would ship outside the UK?
Afraid I have no idea on companies that would?
Could you Google any sites? Will try & think of some other forum members in the US who might be able to help you.

Good luck gorgeous Wilbur Xx
