Hi,

We are (fingers crossed) adopting a pair of 2 year old piggies next weekend. Our nearest rescue, as per the list on here, is about an hour and a quarter drive away.

I am driving myself mad trying to find a suitable carrier for their journey home. I would be so grateful if you could share which cat carriers you have found to work best for your piggies please.

I have read the guide about travel on here but I can not find the recommended carriers anywhere!

Thanks in advance.

Maybe try something like a cat carrier as it is quite big. Some have mesh parts where they can see out. I originally bought one of those plastic ones from pets at home but was too small for two so ended up selling it and buying a new one.

something like this will be fine

I use mesh carriers which work well and feel less bulky to me. However, if you want something that is easy to clean by hand, perhaps use one of the hard carriers. My girls like digging under the blanket I put in there for them and then peeing...so probably line it with pee pads otherwise their pee will stain the carrier. I haven't tried washing it in the machine because I just don't want it to somehow break. I have this one and another one that is similar to it: Amazon.com : LMM Water Proof Portable Side Pet Carrier Bag for Little Petite Dogs and Cats Pig Airline-Approved Under Seat Travel Small Dog Carriers Tote Bag Blue (Blue) : Pet Supplies

I had one of the mesh carriers first but my one girl Aria will try and chew everything and after one journey I found she had chewed through the mesh 🙄 Now I use one of the large hard plastic cat carriers there's more than enough room for 2 and I've carried 3 of them in it still with loads of space. I've tried a few different things in there like blankets, their tunnels but the one they seem to like the most in there is the lap pad with the pocket which they all snuggle in and go to sleep.

I have something like this, one large size and one a bit smaller.

Thanks. That is really helpful.

Oh no! I suppose they are very enticing to chew. I will take the lap pad too. Thank you.

Yes I have a similar plastic one as above for a cat. It is great because they are a bit enclosed so they feel safer
