I need to control the space that my boys have floor time on as they wee and poo all over my carpet (it's old and I do clean it, don't worry :P ), my mum is having my room re-carpeted in a few months so they can't do this on the new carpet so I need a good, big play pen for them to have some fun in!

I've found this one on Ebay:

Does anyone have any bigger/better play pens that they can recommend? Thanks! :D

Is it quite a generous size then? I'm useless with the dimensions and can't tell if the XL would be big enough :P

I used one of these when I first got my boys - it's a great size (the xl) was a bit of a mare to use as an actual cage with fitch but perfect for a run. It has a removable base as well so great for summer grass time if you have a suitable patch of grass! :)

To give size comparison it's diameter about 5ft which is the height of your average 12 year old

The XL at 1.5 metres would be ideal if you've got enough space for it. Maybe put a plastic sheet under it if it isn't completely waterproof.

Brilliant! :D And yes I was thinking it's almost double purpose, good for the summer too! Bargain at that price too, thanks for the help guys, you never fail to deliver :D

Those of you who have had play pens - what did you use on the bottom (if anything?). Fleece, towels? Mine arrive today and it is huge!

I'm using a travel cot as a play pen right now but it's a bit bulky, I like this and since it has a cover on top I can use it with my rats as well. To those who have used this, is the large a good size? and does it pack away easily?

I found it quite difficult to put it away this afternoon but with practice i imagine it would be easy :) and the Xl is very big - bigger then i imagined so the large would be substantial :)

thankyou, I need something that can fit in my room, think I'll give the large a go :)

This is the XL for reference - is this large enough for their floor time long term? I feel bad for them as they previoiusly had my whole floor!1503216_10151996976439342_2009167233_n.webp

that looks pretty big, great for floor time. my room has so many places for them to get stuck so I need something like this! just wondering, is the guinea pig you can see in the picture quite small or normal sized? I have quite big boys so I'm trying to imagine them in it

He's not quite fully grown yet but still quite large, Boris my big pig still has loads of space and this photo isn't all of the pen either! Think it should be good for your boys :)

You can also pick up cheap bath mats from ikea or elsewhere that are washable, but waterproof underneath so they protect your carpet. I use them when my piggies are out on the floor.
