Can folks please suggest some suitable weighing scales which are big enough for guinea pigs to stand on, comfortable, affordable and have a digital readout? I'm finding our cheap kitchen scales too small, too glossy for them to stand on amd too inaccurate. Thanks.

To be honest any kitchen scales will do. Mine are digital made my salter.
I have a little plastic box that I put my piggies in to weigh them

I just have cheap digital scales. I put the boys in a small cheap plastic basket. Just put the basket on before you switch on the scales then add piggy.

My scales were about £10 from Tesco, and they've lasted years (with the occasional battery change).
I've used old cake tins and large bowls to put the piggies in for weighing- sometimes putting a towel in the bottom of it keeps them a bit less scrabbly.
Weekly weighing is one of the best ways to monitor your piggies' health. :)
Taking a photo of them on the scales can be a cute way to monitor their weights over time too, alongside the classic back-of-an-envelope list.

Hi and welcome

You can find pictures and videos of making digital kitchen scales work in this link here: How To Pick Up And Weigh Your Guinea Pigs Safely (videos)

Unless you have to actually compute medical dosages yourself, kitchen scales are perfectly adequate for normal weight monitoring, as long as you use a box, bowl or firm tunnel or at the worst a small towel of some sort to keep the pressure steady. Piggies have no grip when sat straight onto the glossy surface and will wiggle around a lot, which is what makes the weighing a lot more difficult.

If accurate information is important to you, you may want to google for vet grade or commercial kitchen scales for small weights but they going to be a lot more expensive.

Please be aware that you generally monitor weight relative weight changes that are larger than just a few grams.
