Junior Guinea Pig
Hi,
As some of you know I now have 1 piggy, Revolver who is currently living indoors, in a cage. Due to the weather - I normally bring them indoors throughout winter months anyway. However throughout the warmer months - end of spring - Summer - I bring her back outdoors.
Anyway at the moment she hasn't got a hutch. I got rid of their old one. So I've only got one hutch - which my Rabbit lives in.
Can any of you recommend me a good guinea-pig hutch?
I'm still unsure whether if Revolver should live outside or not. However I usually put her outdoors throughout the Spring/Summer (When it's much warmer) so maybe I should continue doing that.
I'd rather have her outside when it's much warmer, so she's got access to go on the grass whenever she wants to since I always put an attached run to their hutch.
But I don't know what's the best hutch to get her!?
A single one or Double one?!
I'm not keen on single one's because they are incredibly low, and near to the ground therefore gets colder at night times?! Also I#ve heard and read somewhere that it's not suitable for piggies to be near the floor - so it's best to have hutches that are high - off the ground, however not easily accessible to the run?!
But then again I'm not keen on double hutches for piggies since the ramp is either too steep or too slippery.
Gah.... Or am I too fussy / worrying too much!?
Let me know what you think, I'd also love to see images of your piggies hutch/run if you have one, to give me ideas.
