I have a heard of six 4 year old females. I have had to withdraw one from the herd to treat it as vet instructs. She has now been 7 days away. Will the remainder still recognise her if I can hopefully put her back with them in a couple of weeks?

I have moved your post to its own thread rather than it being on a thread which was several years old.

All you can do is try to rebond them when the time comes and see if it works. Unfortunately there is a risk that their bond may be damaged by a medical separation and to that end we don’t recommend medical separations - it all depends on the piggies involved and how their hierarchy is functioning.

When the time comes rebond them all on neutral territory (you cannot just put her back in the cage - bonding had to be in a proper introduction) and see how it goes. The guide below explains more

Hi

I agree with @Piggies&buns . All you can do is a full formal entry on ground that is not part of the regular territory and see whether they go back together or whether they prefer to have their own territory with interaction through the bars.

A medical separation is one of the occasions where a sow bond can unfortunately be broken.

All the best.
