hello how long does it take baby guinea pigs to to get use to their huch and bond with its owner??:):)

Hi Rebecca, I'm a Rebecca too!, Give them time, They will settle in soon enough :)

HI and welcome.

It really depends on the piggie. Some settle quicker than others. Talk to them a lot to let them get used to your voice. Try tapping the side of the cage every time you give them veggies and they will associate this with treat time. When I do this, my girls charge out of their home squeaking. HOpe you can post pics of your piggies soon.

Ive had my 2 boys for about 9 months and they still run and hide when i walk past then when they realise its me they come out and squeak. Sometimes they can be moody and not come out ha ha ha x

Hehe, mine start squeeking for food whenever i rattle the hay ball- i only realised they did that when i accidently rattled it and they went MAD lol.

It's cause they know that when i move it- it's to put fresh hay and veggies in it, clever piggies :(|)

Welcome, Rebecca! It depends a lot. I got a tame boar a skittish girl and a "frightened out of her wits-girl" 6 months ago. I have spent a lot of time by their cage, but generally just let them get on with their stuff. The skittish girl now lets me pet her in the cage and the seriously frightened one wheeks for veggies and will come out to get them. She runs off when I try to touch her though :). Give them time, they'll come around!
