Hello again, I was wondering if any of you could give me a little advise. Its a bit of a long(ish) story if you dont mind reading.... sorry...

Ive got 6 piggies now, though it was never meant to be this way. I got little Rocket, my first sow when she was all on her own in the petshop (yes i know- sorry a petshop ") ) Well anyway, i bought her a couple of friends (sisters) which obviously was a bad idea as they didnt get on too well. One of the sisters, Dill, used to chase her a lot and bully her. So i split them up. Turns out Dill was pregnant, and has just popped a couple of pups out just over a week ago. So I got my little Rocket another sow and they get on really well.

So currently, ive got Rocket and her friend Sage in an outside hutch and Dill and her sister Parsley in the indoor cage with the two babies. They get on fine like this. But It looks like (and i shall keep checking) that the babies are both little boars. I'm planning on splitting the boy (obviously at three weeks) and keeping them apart until they are old enough to castrate.

Does anyone think its a good idea to (once the boys are castrated) to introduce them all back together? I dont have a huge amount of cage space so, i was thinking about trying to put the sows all together and the boys indoors until there ops.

Ive had them all out in the garden on the grass together and they dont fight. Some mounting, squirting at one another once in a while and the occational rumble strutting. I'm hoping this is just them trying to dominate one another. No ones chasing or bullying. they all seem ok.

Any ideas? I love to have them all together. Do you think having the boys (once neutered) with them will help?

Sorry about the long message.
Thanks for reading and any answers.

x.

2 Boars can not live together with females.

Options get each boar castrated and give them a herd each.

Keep the boys together and introduce the girls too each other again. IT maybe your piggy was just reacting to hormones.

You could have the girls together and brothers together no need for an op and then if they fallout you can do the first plan :).
