Looking for some advice, we have 2 female gp one gave birth on friday before that we had seperated the girls in the lead up to the birth for around 2 weeks or so. the cages have been place right next too each other so they can still see and smell one and other, but stardust the one who hasn't just given birth has turned quiet aggesive towards us.yesterdaymy daughter was giving her her morning cuddle and she nipped her wrist and now today she has bitten me and actually gone to bite me a number of times. we really want to re introduce the girls back together when the pups are a little older, and have let them have a run together since the birth but stardust (not the new mummy) just tries to get to the others milk and ends up getting in a scuffle with the new mum. Really need some advice on getting them back together and any ideas why stardust has suddenly taken to biting ?

New mums like their space, and need to bond with their litter. I would leave the mum and her litter by themselves until the babies are weaned, and then give her some space to herself before reintroducing.

Sudden onset of aggression / nipping can sometimes be due to illness e.g mites, making them more sensitive - have you checked her over?

ive just had her out again for a cuddle and cant see anything. ive been weighing her and she is not losing weight, do they get nippy when they are stressed maybe ?
