Hi everyone
So it turns out my girls are fighting. Floppys been treated for mites but the injurys keep appearing. They have currently been seperated to stop Poppy from hurting her anymore. I have had to use wire down the middle of the cage they are in as I really don't have enough room for two cages to seperate them properly. I am thinking of rehoming my aggressive pig as the vet had said she will always have to stay on her own, and then getting a new cage mate for Floppy. Do you think this will work or will she just end up becoming dominant and bullying the new pig?
I really don't want to get rid of my pig but seeing them in the cage as it is now breaks my heart as they haven't really got that much room and I want someone to have her that can look after her properly while she is a lone pig.
Also if I do introduce another pig how long does it normally take for them to accept each other? And do you have any advice on doing so?

If I were you, I'd contact Glynneath Guinea Pig Rescue. The lady who runs it offers residential bonding for both genders and is the by far the safest source for new friends for either girl. Each bond is stress tested before they come home to you, so while it is a bit further than Bristol (for your other good rescues, see the rescue locator on the top bar), it will be well worth it at no risk of your own of ending up with yet another pairing that is not working out!

I agree with Wiebke, Glynneath GBP is the best place to go. If you make enquiries there it is possible she could help you to bond the pair you've got. If not you could ask if she can bond yours with one from the rescue. Another possible answer is to add a neutered male to the group if you have enough space or can expand your space. I had problems last year bonding another sow with my existing sows. This didn't work until I adopted a rescue neutered boar & they lived happily as a group.

I agree, adding a neutered male can stop bickering between sows quite dramatically. I hope it all works out for your girls x

Just wanted to add that I homed 2 girls from Suzi at Glynneath GPR a few years ago. She is a lovely lady and I'm sure she would be able to help you.

Thanks everyone
Managed to speak to her earlier. We're booked in for the end of June as this is her first available appointment. Have to keep them seperate until then. So fingers crossed she'll be able to help :) x
