Hi, So my guinea pig had a bladder stone and had surgery to remove it. The Friday before Xmas. He had lost quite a bit of weight the week leading up to that. I can't remember exactly what he weighed on the Friday I think 1094g. I weighed him the next night at 1044g. I've been weighing him everyday since. The vet did say older piggies may not get back up to chunky weight. So I'm not too concerned about getting him back up to full weight. But it seems he is slowly gaining weight and then loses some and then gains some again. Ill try and post a pic of his weight I've been tracking. If anyone could advise me if it looks or normal or not. Thank you everyone.

I'll just add I weigh him approx same time of day before dinner and meds. And the same way (as in the same scales and side of kitchen etc)

His weight looks to be roughly stable which is a good thing.
An older piggy is less likely to regain lost weight and will instead find a new normal. However, even if he was going to regain it, it can take weeks to months to happen. They find it harder to put weight back on than they do to lose it.
You can offer a small amount of plain porridge oats in a bowl for him to nibble at. They can help give a boost.
I feed my two oldies oats in winter to help boost them (my four boys live in my shed and while it’s not really cold in there, they will still use a few extra calories keeping warm).
