Hello. Quick question ... is the occasional raspberry alright to feed as a treat? My husband gave one to our wee piggy, Freddie, and he loved it! However, I was concerned about sugar content & his teeth? Are Raspberries too sweet for guinea pigs? Thanks.

Thank you. That's what I thought.
Your piggies are *gorgeous*! Freddie says "wheek" back! Velvet is very well-named - so beautiful. I'm still trying to work out how to post photos, but soon. ;)

I have tried mine with raspberries- they weren’t sure but did eventually eat them - just 1 each.
Haven’t tried them again yet as selfish slaves eat all the raspberries themselves!

We have a raspberry bush and the piggies do get to enjoy the occasional raspberry from it :))

Freddie would nearly take the hand off you, grabbing for his raspberry! He only gets one at a time, as a special treat, like for when he's been good at for the Vets! (And also because his Daddy scoffs them all).

Thanks! My son named Velvet cos that's what she feels like. Betsy is Betsy cos that's what she looks like. Meg is Meg cos she looks like a Meg, Dennis is called Dennis cos he looks like a Dennis and Christian is Christian cos he's several shades of grey!

To post piccies click on the "Upload a file" button, tell your laptop, computer, phone or tablet where to find the picture and click on it. That will bring it up on your post at the bottom and then you have the choice of adding it on as a big piccie or a small piccie. Simples!

I give mine a raspberry very occasionally because they are so expensive here but they love them.

An occasional raspberry is a real treat and does no harm. Lucky Freddie. Did he have red drippy whiskers.
Hello VickiA.
He took his one Raspberry from my hand and ran off with it to guzzle in private, so I don't know. He seemed unsticky later, so guess he washed any pinkness off! Haha.
