Tonight after floortime I put my two girls back in their cage and gave veg as usual with no problems. I put in 2 hay cookies which they love but there seemed to be a bit of a disagreement as they were both eating the same one so I removed them. They are now teeth chattering at each other and LOADS of squeeking from both pigs! Ahhh! Why has this randomly happened? They usually have no problems sharing hay cookies so I can't see why they have kicked off all of a sudden!

Just had a good bit of teeth chattering there then maple went into the bed and daisy walked away and is eating some hay. They seem to be fine one minute then another bout of teeth chattering the next!

Any advice?

And now they are sharing nuggets from the same bowl (even though there's 2!) with no noises whatsoever! These girls really do confuse me!

Crazy little creatures, aren't they? Mine occasionally chatter their teeth at each other for no apparent reason then carry on as if nothing has happened. It generally seems to be a "oh my days this food is so good I don't want to share it with you" kind of thing. Perhaps it was just that? Every now and again we all want a whole hay cake to ourselves! xD

Haha yes they are! They have been chattering on and off for around an hour. Then they sit next to each other sharing nuggets :S very weird! Haha. I just hope they have calmed down now.

A couple of my girls can be sharing a bowl one minute then chattering at each other the next. Confusing girls! I think it all depends what mood they're in at the time.

I've been told teeth chattering is a way of showing annoyance with each other, a bit like a back off signal. Mine do it regularly when they get I a scrap or someone steals some food.
Really agree they don't know how good they have got it though!

Try making a note of the date, and then see if they do the same thing in 14-16 days time..... When on heat some sows can get grumpy with their cage mates ;) It generally lasts for a day or less but can go on for two days.
And sometimes they're just unfathomable little grumpets for no apparent reason!
