We bought a new hutch for the boys a while back, a lovely 4X2 Double story one. We did post a thread about the Ebay seller, as this hutch was obviously made for rabbits and had a very poor design as there was no platform for when the piggies would climb up, the top of the ramp just linked to the wall of the hutch. It was very poorly made. So for a while my dad blocked up the gap while it was cold, because i was worried about them getting stuck on the bottom level in the cold weather. So now the weather has got warmer my dad made them a little platform for them to climb on to rather them bashing their heads against a wall, as this is what would of happened if my dad didn't make the platform.

The boys are showing no interest in this ramp at all and its such a shame as the bottom level is now their 'play area' they were popcorning down there yesterday, but i've had to keep placing them on each level so they get more space. We're going to buy some carpet tiles to stick down the ramp so they feel like they have more of a grip, like we did with the girls.

I'm just worried that it's going to go to waste...Does anyone know how long it will take for them to adjust to it? As i know this ramp must look very scary to them.

I remember when I was younger I 'taught' my pigs to go up and down the ramp with the use of veggies then afterwards they were fine with it :)

I could give that ago:) I did place carrot down each bit of the ramp- didn't work!

The carpet will make a difference. Mine zip up and down quite happily with carpet on the ramp, but when it came off one time, they would not use it at all.

Have you tried putting one pig upstairs and one downstairs and leaving them to it, obviously keeping an eye on them in case they fall or anything but thats how my piggies used they're ramp in the C&C (:

Nope, haven't tried that, i've tried putting veggies at the bottom. But i'll give your idea a go later:) Thanks
