I need to make the ramp in my piggies hutch easier for them to go down! They're not huge fans of it but they've always been in a hutch with one floor- I purchased this so they had more room to run and play. The ramp has no banisters as it comes up at night, however my poor babies slip and slide when they do go down it ( with my help) :( any ideas as to how to make this piggy friendly?

you could put some thing on it like carpet / fleece so they can have some grip? or put some more rungs onto it so the gap isn't so bad..

I'll definitely try that :) will the carpet help them grip more?
i think i have read that on here, have a look in the section called housing.. i am a new piggie owner and mine wouldn't use their ramp for nearly 2 weeks :( they have got the hang of it now tho but we did put a piece of wood down the side so they didn't fall off it ! x

you are in housing :hb: sorry !

Haha no problem! Thank you for your help:) I have a feeling it might take a while for mine to get used to it!

My husband has made me a "bannister" for my ramp. I also use a ramp tunnel which I got from C&E cosies

I buy those really cheap doormats and cut them into sections and glue them bewteen the rungs on the ramp. I've done this for all my piggies and rabbits and they are fine with ramps.

Our ramp is home made but the piggies love it, the strips of wood are lolly sticks. OH drilled little holes in each stick so the fine pins could be counter sunk so they didn't scratch little feet - very time consuming I think they could have been stuck on with no nails but he likes to do everything properly!
