I will soon be making a 3x3 grid cage with a 1x 3 upper level for my 2 boars & would like some ideas on how to make ramp? Also how sturdy is the second level if only support on 1 side underneath? The front will open in to a floor time area giving them 3 x 9, is this enough?

Really excited as will mean we get our living room back! At the moment we only have a 3 x 2 so play pen open all the time to give them more space! We tip toe round the edges!

I have a 3 x4 with a 1 x3 ramps I don't have any supports underneath I just cable tied it loads.

The ramp I made with 2 mess grids I bent them in and cable tied together and cable tied to the top me and the pigs love it x).

Wow! That was a quick reply! Thanks! Your cage. Looks great, yea I want to put hayloft up top & hoping they will toliet there most for easy cleaning. Do you take the top tray out to empty & clean? Thanks again!

Yeah I do but it's huge and can be a right nuisine I put 2 storage lids, in the top and lift them out and then they have littertray too.. I find it works alot better for hay, but they still poop all round the show. I don't have any supports under the hayloft apart from the back and sides... I just went mental with the cable ties, as I didn't want to take away anymore floor space for my pigs.

i did the same as joanne myu piggies were able to climb it no probs

Mine are the same as Joannes as well, although not in a C&C cage, they are made from the same panels that you make the C&C cages from (the mesh ones rather than the grids, just for extra support under their feet)

They are bent panels that are attached together with cable ties - so long as you pull the cable ties as tight as you possibly can, you will be surprised at how sturdy the ramp will be. I expected it to bend in half where the two panels are joined, but it doesn't. Its secured to the loft level with cable ties as well.

I've then just lined with a bit of carpet as I haven't had a chance to get any vetbed. I've got a bit of a roll of carpet left so I'm just going to stick with that until I run out. It isn't getting dirty, they don't wee on it or anything, so I don't want to spend even more money unnecessarily! rolleyes At least not until I need to!

Ramp

Get a C&C grid and bend it in half so one side has like... a wall and the bit they walk on is flat. cover it with fleece or towel so it cusions their feet.

Or get 2 c&c grid bend in half both sides and tie together at the bottom and like the other one cover with fleece or towels :)
