Firstly hope you all had a lovely Christmas Day.

Was wondering what Radio stations people listen to, finding it hard to find a station to listen to......... have been listening to Heart Xmas for the last 2 and a 1/2 months but it has now finished.

Don't like Heart.
Radio 2 listen all day on Saturday's but during the week I dislike Zoe Ball and Jermey Vine.

Have tried Classic FM, Radio 1, Smooth, Heart 70's 80's etc Kiss

Need something different for 2024

What do you listen to? I'm not tech savvy so needs to be radio station from our radio that sits on the fridge

I’m not much of a radio listener but I do listen to Radio 4 first thing in the morning.
Sometimes I’m awake early enough to catch the Shipping Forecast at 5:20am, followed by News Briefing, Prayer of the Day, Farming Today, Tweet of the Day and the Today Programme.
I usually sleep through some or all of these.

I the car I usually have my iPod or Classic FM

I usually have greatest hits, smooth FM, magic or classic FM. Good variety without too much repetition.

Hehe, repetition she said! Now I have my glasses on.... I see you said smooth and classic 😁

I listen to heart 80s and GHR on patrol as the cars have DAB radio. Reception is hit and miss where I live so I've downloaded 1000s of my favourite songs/eras onto a mini memory stick, plugged it into the USB port on my car radio and put it on random - all my favourite music with no talking or ads. 😁

I listen to my local BBC radio station. I don't like the ads on the commercial stations.

I've just realised I've not "switched on a radio" to listen to it for over a decade (I was still in NI at the tme). Spotify and then Deezer were much better for me, and I didn't have to listen to people talking too, lol. I miss Cool FM and U105 sometimes.

Our kitchen radio is on very quietly all the time but we don't really listen to it... It's on Absolute FM at the moment, absolutely not just because it was at the top of the list when I needed something less talk-y than Radio Four :)) It's pretty inoffensive as background noise but that's the highest praise I can give it!

Some good ideas here

I am looking for a station tat doesn't do to much talking about anything ie news items, currant affairs.

That was why I liked the Heart Xmas there was no talking apart from the news on the hour

BBC Radio Cornwall in the car, so I avoid any holdups due to breakdowns or roadworks. the A30 our main artery through Cornwall A30 is being upgraded to duel carriageway so lots of closures and holdups. Will be great once it’s done though
I also like the local news, otherwise Radio 2, miss Ken Bruce, but can’t cope with the adverts on his new radio show. OH listens to 5Live all sports stuff, drives me mad, so I put on iPod if I’m with him 😊

I love zoe ball ! ,she 3 years older then me ! , 1007 heart , gem 106, smooth , wm , everyone they put a Christmas song on i retune to another station
