my sons got 5 rabbits lop earred and so sweet but when he goes past the males hutch or trys to clean him out he squirts him every time, he has to grab him and put him in a run quickly before he does it to be able to clean him out why does he do this? he is a youngster about 10 months i believe, I said I thought it was hormones and terratory markings is that right? I've only had a male neutered bun and females so never had this problem

Its a territory marking thing also hormones ::) Ive just had my baby French Lop neutered yesterday to prevent this, he is four months. My other older boys who live seperately are also neutered so dont tend to spray either. Male rabbits get on far better with other males if neutered bit like piggies :) Cant stop giggling as I imagine small child dodging spray ! ;D ;D xx

Reminds me of a boy bunny i had years back called Pickles - he sprayed me daily it got beyond a joke but i never got him done - he was not a healthy bunny - one someone had dumped at a pet shop and i ended up with him - he was such a character but boy was nail trimming or bathing when he had mites fun - he went to the vets for a bath once (i was not very confident with bathing back then) and he had to be sedated after biting so many staff, my guess was he had been ill treated which caused the aggressive behaviour? the vet thought it was a risk sedating him so i didnt dare risk the op.

I got use to avoiding his spraying - if you walked past the run he would spray!

I would get any future bunnys with this spraying neutered - as i think he was stressed by all the spraying looking back....

my sons 21 but is getting cheesed off eveytime he goes back in, his wife says did he get you again he said he feels like an idiot having a sweet little bun spray him lol,
