I have ordered Ella some Emeraid to arrive tomorrow and am just wondering if you still need to cut the tip off the syringe like you do when feeding mushed up nuggets? Sorry for the daft question but I’ve never used it before. TIA

The Emeraid Intensive Care Herbivore (red writing) is very smooth. The Emeraid Sustain Herbivore (blue writing) is more fibrous - I find it easier with the end cut off but that’s personal preference (piggie personal preference).

Excellent. Thank you both. It’s the Emeraid sustain herbivore (blue writing) that I’ve ordered. I’ll see how she gets on x
I think you will need to chop the end off the syringe, good luck hope she likes it

My boys go mental for this stuff and will eat it out of a bowl, might be worth a try to see if Ella will to!

What is Emeraid in comparison to critical care?
Sorry i’m just nosy!

Thank you. I’ll cut the end off the syringe then and put her a little in a bowl and hope she likes it 🙂 x

@piggl , Emeraid is just another brand of recovery feed for herbivores 🙂 I’m trying her on this as I’m concerned she isn’t getting enough fibre and vitamins from the mushed nuggets alone x

I only make up enough Emeraid to do one feed at a time, and I usually bin anything that’s left over afterwards. In fairness anything left over is given as a treat to the there’s who are usually begging me for a taste. So I’m not sure how long it lasts after having been made up. Does the packet give any indication?

I used to put it in the fridge for a day and it was okay, I think it may say that on the pack but I’m not 100% certain!

I used to make up a cup size full each morning and spoon out a feed at a time and keep the rest in the fridge. Any left after the last feed I would chuck in the compost

The pack on the Emeraid sustain I've got says 'discard after each feeding'. I think this is to do with the type of bacteria in it. The other sorts of Emeraid maybe different, it should say on the pack.
