As some of you know I am getting a new C&C tomorrow for my girls and have some questions about what to do for the best...

Should I bath them and clean all toys and hideys before they go in to make it neutral territory? It would be their first bath but Poppy is getting a bit smelly now :))

They don't appear to have worked out who is the boss yet so should I try to put them both in at the the same time or does it not matter if one is in a minute earlier than the other?

Also should they have worked out dominance yet? They are almost 6 months old now and it still isn't clear. Poppy is slightly bigger and rumblestrutts at Maisie most days unless Maisie is in season then she does it to Poppy. Neither one seems to want to submit to the other, there's been a fair bit of ear tugging, kicking and snapping in the others face but no actual fighting. When this isn't going on they do seem to be firm friends, there's certainly no bullying as yet. I worry I'm making things worse because I can't work out who is the most dominant and treating them accordingly.

Sorry for the rambling post but I really want to make sure I get things as right as I can mallethead

Lol it doesn't matter your 'rambling' because I usually do!
When the cage arrives I would prepare the cage and gives the toys/hide houses a good clean and arrange it how you want for them.
Then get them together and bathe them together at the same time (it might be easier if you have someone to help you). Use piggy shampoo and put something on them such as a little bit of lavender to make them smell the same and is not harmful to them. Then place them in the cage, with them being in a new environment they shouldn't try and act as though it's their patch. Because they both smell the same they shouldn't bully each other as much as they smell the same.
Hope this helps!
Can we have pics of the finished cage please!
P.S Is your black piggy called Poppy because I have a piggy just like her and she's called Poppy!

I wouldn't bother unless you want to bath them, even when introducing piggies for the first time you don't have to bath them, plus they are already friends so should be fine :)...

The cage is neutral too both girls... the new one that is :).
