Do you all wash the fleece a few times before sewing?

So that the fleece has done any shrinking before and will hopefully hold it's shape better? Or have you just gone for it?

I tend to wash mine and then tumble dry them before I cut them to size for sewing. It does help with the shrinkage (although I tend to find there isn't a great deal of shrinkage but it depends on the fleece and drying method), I also find prewashed fleece doesn't tend to 'walk' quite so much when I'm sewing as the fibres have flattened out and reduced the bulk slightly.

In theory I also was everything first, but today I discovered a new piece of fleece I had forgotten about and just couldn't wait, so I made a tunnel with it anyway!

thanks everyone, i've been good and washed them, only once though (with no softener) as I want to get started:yahoo:

Getting the kids involved too! youtube is open ready to go

I wash the uhaul pad on ultra hot setting to get it to shrink and dry on hot before I use it the fleece I just use right away and wash after it is sewn...with 1 cup vinegar and unscented soap...
