Just have a few questions :)

1. Do you top your megazorb with hay?
2. Do you put anything underneath?
3. How often do you completely replace the megazorb?
4. Do you remove all poop from megazorb on a daily basis, if not, how often?
5. If you top with hay do you remove all hay daily?

Thanks in advance for your answers :)

hello,

i put the megazorb on the bottom and the hay on top. i change the hay every other day and clean and change the cage with new megazorb once a week.

i do take out most poos when i change the hay and i don't put anything underneath the megazorb.

hope this helps :)

Yes it does, thanks. I've been taking out all the poops everyday but wondered if I could get away with doing it every other day. I have missed a day on the odd occasion but have felt really guilty :)

when i used to use it, i always put newspapers underneath, and i pulled out some poops not all, and changed it completely every 5 days.

I am thinking of going back to megazorb, but am having difficulty getting hold of it!

:)

When I started using megazorb I used newspapers underneath but didn't like it. I much prefer it without.

I hope you manage to find it. I know you can get it from Animal Magic Pet Supplies but by the time you add on postage it would be almost double what I pay for mine. I think it would be the same anywhere you bought it from online.

if i manage to find some i will try without papers, why didnt you like it with, any particular reason?

Fingers crossed i have found a horse supplier type place just round the corner from my house, literally and if they dont have megazorb they have audboise and easibed so i may try one of those.

I just use Megazorb, nothing underneath, nothing on top! I change it fully once a week, but scoop out any wet areas daily (using a mini dustpan) and replace with a scoop of clean megazorb. I found using newspaper underneath made it smell really bad quite quickly.

ahhh interesting, thanks for that love x

how weird. I wonder if the wee was soaking into the papers then instead of the megazorb and that was smelling, i cant say i noticed, but it could be because i have never tried different

how do you manage to pic the poo out of the megazorb? ours seem to kick the megazorb around so much the poo just gets buried

I get my megazorb from farmway, its about £12 with delivery.

It's interesting to see how everyone uses the same product. I line the bottom of my cage with a thick layer of newspaper, then add megasorb and pop piles of hay into the four corners of the cage and some under the tunnels. I tend to change the hay daily, scoop any obviously wet areas of megasorb out with a dustpan, add a little fresh and top up with hay.

I find having newspaper on the bottom makes it easier to just roll the whole lot up on clean out days.:)

I do mine the same as the above person paper then megazorb topped off with huge amounts of hay. Like the above poster easy to roll up :))

I use megazorb.

I have a layer of newspaper on the bottom, megazorb on top and then hay on the top of that.

I completely replace the megazorb when I'm fully cleaning their cages out so a couple of times a week. I don't do a daily poop clean, I just fully clean out their cages every 3 days.

I get mine from Farmway - £12 inc delivery. I usually get them a treat of Readigrass at the same time.

I put megazorb on the bottom of cage (no newspaper underneath), and then loads of hay on top. My piggies love to hide under the hay as well as eat it. Usually there isn't much hay left in the morning as my piggies are massive hay eaters (they only get a very small amount of pellets), and apart from cleaning out the wet corners I don't actually pick individual poops out! :)) I clean my piggies out every five days or so although the cages with more piggies in are usually cleaned more often.

I put newspapers underneath, then megazorb (from farmway) and then a couple of big bunches of hay on top. I clean it out fully every week, and only tidy updaily if it looks like it really needs it. The piggies are inside now with fleece and vetbed, they used the megazorb when they were in the shed, daytime in the c&c and at night i put them in their hutch, again with newspaper and megazorb and hay.

I use megazorb from May - huge difference to woodshaving they stopped To sneeze and to cough.
I got 2 x ferplast 100 cages for big boy (1.3kg) and change him weekly.
3 girls have own cage I change weekly as well and girls also have 5 litter trays I change them depends on their condition.

I put hay on the top of megazorb. They eats some quantity and I'm adding more to make them walk on fresh hay all the time.

I bought vetbed on ebay and testing right now to use it instead of megazorb.
According first week to use vetbed much more effecient than megazorb.
Over 3 days no sign of urine and sufrace feel very dry.Girls looks much cleaner.
In main cage I will continue use megazorb - due to large area.

I uses vetbed now and found it match better and even cheaper than megazorb.
I'm still use megazorb in one area where my 3 sows eats hay.But all other areas was replaced to vetbed - is only need remove dropping twice a day and wash it when dirty(i do it around 2-5 times a week).
