As my fleeces have been washed a few times now, can I up the temperature without them shrinking? I normally wash them on 40° but since the inco pads can be washed higher, I'd like to wash the fleeces on a higher temperature too, to make sure all the nasty bits are killed. I'm only thinking of increasing to 50° or 60°.

Thanks :)p

I think there is risk of them shrinking still so I use Vanish Hygiene Powder in with the wash. Its on offer in most palces at the mo and is meant to kill 99% of germs. I use it in with the inco pads as well, but all that pig pee makes it foam something chronic!

well I wash my towels and fleece together on the hottest temperature - 90 - and my fleeces havent shrunk. I just like to wash it hot hot hot to make sure i get all the urine out

I now wash towels and fleece at 40. Every 5 washes or so I do it at 60, just for good measure. So far I haven't had any problems with smell. I try to wash at lower temperature for environmental reasons.

If they got mites or some infection I would look into disinfectant stuff or wash hotter but normally I'm not much into the no germs stuff, thinking it might do more harm than good.

Good thread - I've been scared to wash mine higher then 40 in case they shrink, but they could really do with a hot wash every third of 4th time. Great to see that other people do them on a hot wash.

And if there is any shrinkage its such a good excuse to go shopping :))
