Well, I have spent the day putting together the outside of my new 4x3 C&C cage. The girls watched on unamused as I sweated and swore over the connectors. I am sure once I get my hands on a big hammer tomorrow the connectors will be pursuaded to fit together snuggly.

Anway, I am now looking to order some inco pads and fleeces.

Looking at the different sizes of inco pads, I cannot find any the right size for the cage. Can you overlap them? How thick are they, if I do overlap them are the girls going to be tripping over a big ridge where they overlap?

Question on fleeces - do 'normal' size fleeces that you can get in Tesco or Asda fit a 4x3? I am hoping to pin them to the correx with bulldog clips so would need enough extra to do this.

Sorry for al the questions but I know there are other members on here with 4x3 cages who have already done all this research so why reinvent the wheel:-)

Hi Beki I dont know about inco pads - I use towels, but I get my fleece from primark and B&M. I have a 3x7 cage and I need two fleeces to cover the space. But thats ok, you can just overlap them :) I dont clip them to the sides but tuck the edges under the towels. If you really wanted to clip the sides, and you couldnt find a fleece big enough, then id take a look online, where you can order specific lengths and widths :) Post a pic when your done! Id love to see! :)

I have a 4x3, fleeces fit perfectly from Primark, asda extra... I also have inco pads, what I have did is bought an inco pad for a single bed.. maybe 10cm if that is not covered by the pad, I only use one and have my fleece sewn on top so my whole cage is covered by fleece. I find my pigs are rarely in the uncovered bit which doesn't have the pad... so one works for me.

I use this one... and Pollie cut the wings off and attached the fleece for me. :)

I have 140cm x 200cm fleece which is plenty big enough for my 4 x 3. The primark fleeces are 125cm x 150cm which might come up a bit short depending on how much you want to tuck over the correx.

I have these inco pads

which are 75cm x 90cm. I need 2 full ones for each cage which overlap slightly. The corners are rounded so will leave a small gap

I have cut another pad into 4 strips

2 strips fit the left over gap in the cage. So I needed 5 inco pads for 2 full changes.

The inside of the inco pad looks like this

As you can see the pads are quite thin, so no problem to fit in the washing machine.

I have used bias binding to cover the cut edge

Please excuse the wonky seams

Hope this helps

I forgot to say I velcro my fleeces down... they fit perfectly to cover the whole cage, but wouldn't go over the sides :red...xx

Thanks everyone for the replies and links. Thanks Flips for the photos, that really helped to see the thickness. I have bitten the bullet and order the full bed size that JoannaG has ordered. My OH thinks I am mad ordering inco pads:-) If that one works out I might be brave and order the smaller ones as well and try cutting and sewing them to size.

I've also gone fleece mad and ordered loads of pretty colours. Can't wait for it all to arrive.

Are you going to attach the fleece too the inco pads? Or are you having them separate?!

I'm planning to keep them seperate so I can change the fleece more frequently but will have to see how long the inco pads last with my 3 girls. I am hoping to clip my fleece to the grids to cover the gap left by my correx being 1 1/2 inches short all the way around. I don't want them to be climbing over the side of the correx.
