Hey all! So 8/6 my little one got a haypoke which caused a corneal ulcer in one of her eyes. I went to an emergency vet and he gave me Ciprofloxacin Ophthalmic Solution .3% to give her 2 drops in the eye every 8 hours. After 7 days, it went down a lot! I went back to the vet and they said to continue for another 5 days. At this moment it looks better but her eye is not completely healed.

My question is -- how long has it taken anyone with a similar issue to heal? Is it ok to keep using the eye drops? I will post a picture of what her eye looks like right now. It used to look worse, like there was a giant pimple on her eye and now there's only a little white smudge inside. She is eating, drinking, playing. Just curious how long it normally takes before I go back to the vet in a few more days.

Hello and welcome to the forum!
Eye injuries can take quite a while to heal depending on the injury. Your vet will tell you when all is healed and you can stop.
Good luck!

Recovery time is dependent upon the severity of the injury - some will be quicker than others. Definitely continue to follow your vet's advice.

I hope she recovers well.

Last year my Meg had a really bad haypoke that took 8 weeks and 3 different eyedrops 3 times a day and an hour apart to heal. I was not Mrs Popular as Meg hates being picked up and isn't too keen on eyedrops either! But together we managed to save her eye.

Keep going until the vet tells you to stop.
