Hello,

I just recently purchased a baby guinea pig from a petstore that hasn't been in the store for more than a week ( the week before i purchased him i went looking for a aby and it was a female) Hes male so i bought him. I am currently quarantining him in another room for a week and then taking him into the vet before introductions ( my breeder told me what to do as far as introductions).

But she hasn't gotten back to me on what am I supposed to look for when it comes to Quarantining them? He popcorns everywhere , hes all white mostly so you can see very well in his ears and they are clean, no crusty nose or eyes, and haven't noticed any lice and i have lice shampoo from vet if he did. and no weird breathing. So again id just like to know what I'm supposed to look for and once i take him to the vet do i still need to quarantine for another week?

Thanks again for your time!

Hi,

Quarantine should be 2 - 3 weeks. Since he's from a pet store, you should wait for full 3 weeks.

Please also make sure he is actually a he. Pet stores usually mis-sexed them.
