Brought my piggies in last week due to the cold temperatures and got them an indoor cage from pets at home. They will stay in now until weather warmer but I wondered if anyone had any advise about how to go about putting them back out as there hutch is bigger for them and I like them to have the sounds and smells of being outside. I wondered about putting them out in day and in at night but thought the swapping and changing might stress them. Would appreciate any advice.

If your piggies have got used to warm temperatures,i would wait until the weather is constantly 15 degrees celcius at night and day.usually end of april/ may..i have mine in a shed over the winter and autumn. This year I'm going to either get the shed converted so that it has electricity or utilise the spare bedroom and put all the piggies in there.the recent temps was just too cold.i would not put them back out yet, unless in a covered area eg shed, unused garage with no cars in,outhouse.if your piggies are in apart of a house with no heating then it is your call wether you want to place them back outside.:)

I put the herd back in the cabin yesterday. They have been in the house, but with no heating at night. They do have plenty of fleecy things and I have three snuggle safes if it gets really cold.

The cabin is fully insulated and has double glazing doors and windows. I have heaters in there (and a dehumidifier now), as I want heat without the humidity.

We constantly monitor the temp in the cabin and its 20 degrees now, dropping to about 17 degrees C at night.
