I'm not sure if this is a bargain or not but I thought I'd post it on here just in case.

In Home Bargains today I got a 14 pack of puppy pads (60cm x 54cm) for £1.99, actually I got a couple!

Was it a bargain?

B&M stores used to do 30 (60x60) for a fiver but my local store suddenly stopped selling them grrrr
I've been looking everywhere since for cheap pads so will have to invade home bargins and empty the shelve :))

I've got a stock from homes bargains - only use them when on holiday or for the carry bags/boxes for travel/vets trips - they are good quality.
I stick to newspaper, towels etc at home as more Eco friendly but we are away at the mo and I've got them under the fleece in Arties holiday puppy play pen - so useful!

I always used to get mine from Home Bargains when I used them as they worked out the cheapest. They do occasionally run out of stock though.

What do puppy pads look like and how good are they? Are they more effective than using newspapers?

They absorb a lot more!

they have a fabric top and a waterproof bottom layer :-)

newspaper is rubbish for absorbing compared to these. for my pigs papers are wet in a day, these are wet in a week (all tested when they are underneath a towel and a fleece)

Can you use these instead of towels? My washing machine has broken, managed to get all the fleeces washed but it broke down before I did the towels. I'm wondering if it will work as a temporary measure until it's fixed. A layer of newspaper, puppy pads then fleece on top?

I think you could get away with it but they will need changing a few days.

Id put the puppy pads as the bottom layer with loads of paper on top then the fleeces but that is just me :-)
