Basically my 2 piggies keep getting inbetween the layers of fleece and towels. I keep having to get them out and folding everything back under again. Is there anyway i can stop them from getting inbetween the layers?
I have tucked it all really tightly around the edge but they still manage to get under. Am i doing something wrong?

What I (and others on here) do is tuck the fleece inbetween the base and the cage, it is so much easier to keep poop wise and also will stop your pigs getting under, little rascals. :))

Yup, I do as Hoggle&Ludo does - it can be a bit awkward getting the fleece not to rise at the sides, but the boys are heavy enough to bring it down when they walk on it :)

Doesn't look as neat but saves hassle of the lads running on it and kicking it about or pulling it up.

Is there a specific place they are getting under i.e. a corner. I only ask as one of my old girls used to do that in a corner so I put things in all the corners and it seemed to do the trick.

I think my 2 find it easy to get under as they are little and can easily wiggle under. I have tucked the fleece right under the towels but they still manage to get under.

Nope, just anywhere they can. I was up at 8 this morning sorting them out as I'm worried they will either get wet under there or suffocate.

Roger is still quite a wee fella but so far touching every bit of wood going, he's behaved himself and hasn't attempted to get under the fleece which is tucked under the incontinence pads. No doubt having said that he will become a mole :))

I had a thought that they may have got cold so got under there for the warmth so i have put in there little cosies. Hopefully they won't keep getting under the layers as its a pain to keep redoing it all.

I used to peg the fleece to the bars of the cage when mine did that. Luckily they grew out of it after a while of being used to fleece.

Maybe you could peg the fleece to the cage? Or you can buy little crocodile clips from Wilkinson's and you could use them to clip it all together? :)

Sounds like they like making mammy coming to tidy their cage after they have burrowed. :))

Is it a huge problem them getting inside the fleece? I just changed Max to fleece yesterday and he is snuggling inbetween the layers of fleece (not on top of the towel)
He seems to love it and looks all cosied up with just his little nose peeking out, but don't want him to overheat and will need to change the way i am making his bed if he should just be lying on top of it.

As i say I'm just worried they will get wet or suffocate. Sometimes they get between the folded fleece but other times they get between the fleece and towels.
I wouldn't say its a huge problem if its just between the fleece but you do have to keep an eye on where they are.

You could clip the crocodile clips to it so its harder for them to burrow maybe? So its all clipped together so its harder for them to go in between.

The other option if they keep doing it you could sew the towels and fleece together, so their isnt anyy gaps then. :)

Try sticking another small piece of fleece in their cage ontop of the fleece (if you know what I mean) so they could possibly use that to get under and play with.

Thanks for the suggestions i will have a think about what will work best. My Mum suggested sort of making a pillowcase with the fleece and putting the towel inside, so will think about that.
