My piggies are about 9-10 months old, one in particular..Bambi will tolerate being stroked while she is in the cage, will hand feed and even follows me round while I clean up the poops every day but out of the cage she is a different piggy!

I don’t chase her to get her out of the cage but encourage her into a cosy so she feels secure, but as soon as I sit for lap time she freaks out, she starts digging /tugging and biting the fleece and is obviously stressed out, she is totally out of control....even with treats mallethead

I have just about given up with lap time which is such a shame, does anyone have any suggestions please ?

I know the obvious answer is to keep trying but it’s not working as it is, I am hoping someone has some foolproof tips :<>

Thankyou x>>

My Peanut Butter was like that. Constantly followed my hand as I swept up poops into a bowl and if I turned my back he'd tip the bowl! But at lap time he'd jump out of his cosy and sit on the fleece on the sofa beside me. His cagemate Hazelnut was just the opposite.Never interacted with me n te cage but loves laying on my lap being stroked.

I just let PB go onto the sofa beside me. After many months he finally allowed me to stroke his back on the fleece beside me for a few minutes before he would move away from my hand, then later in the cosy and finally, only occasionally mind, on my lap. After 8 months he is still not the lap piggy Hazelnut is. But I do manage to get a few minutes of stroking him before he's had enough.

Slow and steady I guess, just letting your piggy get used to being near you on the sofa.
