Price Of Neutering

I'm just wondering if anyone knows the approximate price of neutering at a good vets. I may be finally giving in to the idea of neutering although the risks worry me. I'm not personally concerned about the price of neutering, my partner is more so as I have been signed off work for a few months and our income is not what it usually is. I am looking at neutering my two boys at rose cottage vets in Runcorn. I rang them up last week and they said £35 but that seems too cheap to me? Will they need an initial consultation before the neutering or can I just book them in as the vets is quite a far drive away. Also I'm guessing medication will be extra? Just looking for an approximate price really for the two pigs

You will have to ask the clinic just what is exactly included in the quoted cost.
The cost of neutering can vary widely, depending on the clinic and what is included in terms of care. Generally, there has to be a pre-op assessment with is not necessarily included, but a post-op check-up within the first days after an operation is usually included in the operation cost. Neutering operations are often subsidised to encourage people to have their pets neutered in order to cut down on accidental/unplanned breeding.
 
I don't know much about the neutering process but my local rescue has their boars done for £40 each.
 
I've recently had my boy neutered. For the pre-op consultation, the operation, the next day check up and a 10 day check up, and Meds it cost me about £76 all together.
 
I had my board done back at the end of September. The op, medication and a post op. check up four days later cost £79. They did a pre-op check in the morning her was operated on, and would have operated if they weren't happy with is general health. They did this as I wasn't using my local vets, and was making use of a vet who has done extra training in small animal anaesthesia whilst I was house sitting for my parents.
 
With no problems my old vets did the neutering for £60, this included the pre-op check, operation and follow up the next day. If I had needed further meds at the follow up then it would have been more
