Keiko The Pig
Junior Guinea Pig
My new cage arrives today (ordered from the site associated with my rescue who make any size C&C cage you want single or multi leveled), and on Wednesday I am off to the store to purchase another water bottle and hidey to prepare to either adopt (hopefully adopt, depends on gender of the rescues recent litter) or purchase another boar for Keiko to have a friend. I've come across some conflicting information, on this forum actually from the Sticky threads on boar bonding. One says to rearrange the boars cage every day ( the toys tunnels etc) to keep them stimulated and interested in their surroundings instead of fighting each other. Another says to keep their environment steady, as moving things around can cause dominance to peak up again. Which of these should I abide by? Right now I move Keiko's toys around, occasionally removing certain ones for a couple days to be replaced with other ones, but i leave his house/eating/litter area in the same place. When I get him a friend and set up the new cage should I switch things up with their toys every couple days or so? Or put some toys in and then leave it to the boys if they want to push things around?
