I’m a bit hypochondriacal for myself, and it seems like I’m the same with my girls.

Bug sneezes about 5-7 times a day, sometimes loud enough I can hear her from downstairs (she’s upstairs in the loft). The vet noticed clear snot from one nostril during her checkup but seemed fine with that.

She is otherwise eating (tons), pooping (tons), and overall her usual chipper self. When she wheeks/squeaks, it sounds a little muted, almost congested.

I have an appointment with her vet Wednesday but before I take her, I guess I want to make sure I’m not being overly concerned/obsessive. I don’t want to waste my vet’s time since he’s popular.

It’s always good to get a vet check carried out for any concerns.
Sneezing is how they clear their airways

In the meantime, have you checked their hay is dust extracted and that any bedding isn’t dusty? Dusty hay will cause them to sneeze when pieces get in their nose.
Are there any other irritants in the room, candles, air air fresheners etc?

Thank you for your response!

I use fleece bedding so no shavings of any kind. I just did their weekly cleanup and the hay wasn’t dusty at all, really good Oxbow quality. No candles or air fresheners at all, a scentsy scent pam on the bathroom on the other side of the house from them.

I had her at the vet two weeks ago (I didn’t realize every piggy had a bald spot behind their ear and was worried about mites!) and he wasn’t concerned about the clear snot or sneezing. She’s in a cage with her friend Betty and Betty seems fine and not sneezing at all. Both do seem to be itchy and scratch occasionally but he didn’t see mites in either one.

I do tend to over-research things, so I want to be thorough and take great care of my girls but I also don’t want to be paranoid and diagnose my girls every time one of them moves.
