*Everything is well below the level where fights would threaten, I'm sure they will work this out eventually it just seems to be taking some time!
Nugget had her ovaries removed by keyhole surgery on the 17/01 as her mad seasons were scaring marshmallow stiff causing her to stop eating pretty much every time. 2 days after usually very submissive marshmallow came into season herself and it was pretty wild (she's a teenager nearing adulthood) anyhow since then with lead piggy nugget loosing her hormonal confidence there's been a constant dominance dispute, non stop rumbling from little marshmallow, facing off, chinning off and a bit of nipping but still well below anything serious, I'm just wondering how long it should take for a new hiarachy to be established, nugget has always been boss piggy even before she was crazy hormonal boss piggy so I'm not sure where this has all come from! They are both eating and regaining the weight they both lost after nuggets op and they are eating together in between all the rumbling! I'm beginning to wish I'd spayed them both! 🤦‍♀️ It is rather noisy around here! Anyhow I'm just looking for reassurance really that they will sort themselves out! 🤞😁

Hi!

It can rumble on for quite a while and may become a bit more inense whenever Marshmallow is coming into season, but as long as it is remaining at the current level, I would just leave be. The girls will eventually come to an understanding again.

Thankyou! Reassuring to know they should work it out! Seems strange it not being nugget being bossy 🙈😂

Marshmallow is reacting to Nugget's operation, her lack of some pheromones and her temporary weakness. That is very normal. Nugget will assert herself once she is feeling up to scratch again and a new power balance will be negotiated.

Thankyou so much! I figured it was normal at first but wasn't sure as it had been over a month now 🙈 Nugget is starting to fight back she finally reached pre spay weight at last weigh in! Phew! 😁

What you’re describing is exactly what I’ve had before when one of my sows has been spayed. It will take a while to settle down.
